There are many smarter ways to manage working forests that can increase productivity while also helping to heal the planet.
Forestry organisations should collaborate more closely with farmers to encourage them to plant more trees on their land for harvesting, develop smarter logging practises that minimise forest damage, and ensure longer harvest cycles to promote tree growth. If all of the smartest people in all of the forestry organisations collaborated to develop vastly improved methods of doing business, they could all benefit from much higher profits and a much better perception from environmental groups.
