Stop Land Clearing

Excessive land clearing has had a significant impact on the health of our rivers and coastal ecosystems around the world. It has accelerated erosion rates, and the higher-than-normal runoff of sediment, nutrients, and other pollutants into coastal waters has caused increased damage to coral reefs and other marine ecosystems. In the last decade, my home state of NSW in Australia has gone too far, with land clearing rates increasing by 300%, which was heartbreaking to learn. This has severely harmed woodlands and grasslands, which are rapidly deteriorating.
